Shipping boxes with movers normally requires a weight minimum of 500 lbs.
Remember, your boxes for shipping must be very well packed, as they will get bounced around.
• For less than 500 lbs you may want to consider shipping boxes through a package service such as UPS and FedEx. By packing your items securely you can have these package services deliver your contents to your new location. Most carriers will deliver anywhere in the country in less than a week's time.
Door to door delivery for shipping boxes is available with ground service being the cheapest way to ship. Both UPS and FedEx will pick-up at a home or apartment. Home pick-ups are not by appointment, so you might end up waiting a while for the truck.
You can also save time (and a little money) by dropping the boxes off at a customer counter.
- FedEx has customer counters at many locations throughout the USA. Payment by credit card only.
- UPS has customer counters at each of their terminals. Payment by check or credit card.
Retail locations such as Mailboxes, Staples, etc. also accept packages for package services but they do add a surcharge for their troubles.
